Once you have been granted registration you will require a work permit / visa from Immigration New Zealand before you can accept a teaching position.
English Language Requirements
Before becoming registered, teachers must be able to communicate effectively with the children and young people they teach, the colleagues they work with and the parents, whanau and caregivers of the infants, children and young people they teach. A high level of written and oral skill is required in either or both of Aotearoa New Zealand's official languages, English and Māori.
