Application Procedure for Experienced Teachers
Experienced teachers may hold full registration or registration subject to confirmation (STC).
Your practising certificate and registration may have expired if you have spent time away from teaching. Please choose one of the following options to be directed to the correct application form:
- I hold Full registration and need to renew my practising certificate
- I hold registration Subject to Confirmation (STC) and need to reapply for a practising certificate
It is important to note the difference between your registration category and practising certificate. If you are unregistered this means that both your registration and practising certificate have expired and you will need to reapply for registration using the TC1 application form. If you are unregistered, you are not eligible for full registration.

If you have not completed an approved teacher education programme but you are an experienced teacher, you may apply for registration via the discretionary application pathway.
